The importance of walking
Steps are the most important foundation of music structure. That is why taking the time to practice and learn the steps and arpeggios are the most important and basic fundamental exercises of any musician. So it is good to know that stepping is one of the most important daily exercises for both a beginner and a professional musician.
Tips on practicing steps
Remember not to rush into step training at all, and know that playing steps with high speed and accuracy requires a lot of time and long-term practice and will never be achieved in the short term. So never expect fast and short term progress and do not rush. Always start your training with a tempo in which you can easily and with excellent quality play the selected step in that tempo, for example, tempo 60 with 4/4 double-note notes or in harder steps even at lower speeds, for example Tempo 40! Write down the last tempo number you last practiced with for each step. Save the names of all the minor and major steps and master them. Only when you have succeeded in playing a step with complete and clean mastery, increase the tempo number only one unit and repeat these exercises regularly and patiently daily until your fingers gradually reach a high degree of accuracy and speed.
